Creating Assignments
How do I create a digital assignment?

Starting from the Teacher Dashboard, first select the grade level course from the My Courses Widget.

Then use the search bar or the table of contents navigation bar on the left to locate the resource you would like to assign to your students.

Once you've located the resource, select the blue Assign button on the resource card.


In the pop-up Assign modal, customize your assignment settings: Required fields (marked with *)
- Assignment Title *

Assign to: whole class or specific students*

To assign to the entire class(es): Select the checkboxes next to the classes in the Assign to drop down option. The Open to any students option will be defaulted to on (blue) to allow all students in the selected classes to start the assignment.

- To assign to the selected students in a class: Select the checkbox next to the class the student is rostered in the Assign to drop down option. Then turn off the Open to any students option (gray) and choose specific student(s) from the Select Students drop down option.

Start Date & Time *
- Defaults to current date and time.
- Can be edited by selecting the calendar icon.

End Date & Time *
- Defaults to one calendar day after the Start Date.
- Can be edited by selecting the calendar icon.

Allow Late Submission
- If Allow Late Submission checkbox is selected, Late Submission Date & Time text box is enabled with the calendar icon to select the date for late submission.
- If Allow Late Submission checkbox is selected, Late Submission Date & Time text box is enabled with the calendar icon to select the date for late submission.

Category*
- Default is set to Quiz, but the category can be changed to Activity, Exam, Homework, Practice, or Project.

Include in Reports Toggle
- Indicates if the assignment should be included in reporting data like Item Analysis Report , Standards Mastery Report, Gradebook Report.

Additional Settings are also available including the below options for customizing the assessment.

Randomize Question Order
- Randomize Question Order option will be available for Vocabulary Quizzes, ExperTrack , Custom Assessments, Custom ExperTrack, Custom Vocabulary Quiz.
- Randomize Question Order option will not be available for Non-Question based assessments (PDF's, Internet Links), Digital Student Books.

Randomize Answer Choices
- For all types of assignable resources, the default is selected to randomize answer choices.

Display Grades to Students
- For all types of assignable resources, the default is selected to display grades after the assignment is submitted.
- For all types of assignable resources, the default is selected to display grades after the assignment is submitted.

Review Options
- Review option is defaulted to Review not Available.
- Review Options are as follows:

- Review button is not available for the student to review the submitted assignment.

Review Submission
- Students can only review the answers they submitted on the assignment.

Review Graded Submission
- Students will be able to view which questions they answered correctly or incorrectly on the Overview screen.
- Students will be able to review the answer they entered, but will not be able to see the correct answer if they answered incorrectly.

Review Graded Submission with Correct Answers
- Students will be able to view which questions they answered correctly or incorrectly on the Overview screen.
- Students will be able to view the correct answer and the student answer while reviewing individual questions so that it helps in comparing the student answer with the correct answer.

Practice Mode
- Teachers can assign an assignment in Practice Mode to allow students to view correct answers instantly and practice without fully completing and submitting the assignment to the teacher.

Additional Instructions
- Teachers can add instructions in the additional instructions box and the students can view the instructions while they work on their assignment.
Advanced Grading Options
- For Interactive question based assignments, such as Digital Student Book, Vocabulary Quizzes or ExperTrack, teachers will be able to distribute the weight evenly to 100 percent for the entire assignment, customize the weight or percentage by individual question, or set a question as not graded.
- For PDF or non-question based assignments, such as Study Guides, Videos, or Internet Links, teachers will be able to customize the total points for the entire assignment.
Once you've selected your assignment settings, select the blue Assign button on the bottom left of the pop-up modal.
You'll receive a pop-up message to confirm that your assignment was successfully assigned.
