How do students delete annotations and highlights?

Learn effective methods for students to easily delete annotations and highlights from their digital documents and notes.

Updated June 30th, 2026

While students are completing assignments within the Gallopade Online Platform, they may add annotations and highlights to add notes, identify important information, or answer questions on a PDF type resource like a Study Guide.

Interactive Type of Resources

Students can use the highlighter tool from the toolbar on the right to identify important information in their assignment such as a Digital Student Book Lesson, Vocabulary Builder, ExperTrack Assessments, and more!

If students need to delete their highlights, students will first select the Highlighter tool from the toolbar on the right.

Then use the mouse to click and drag over the words that the highlighting needs removed from.

The highlighter menu will reappear with a trashcan option to delete.

Selecting the Trashcan icon, will delete all highlights from the selected words.

PDF Type of Resources & Student eBook

Students can use the Highlighter and Annotate Text tools while reading or answering questions on a PDF type of Resource or the Student eBook.

Deleting Highlights

Highlights must be deleted individually. To delete, students must first select Highlighter from the toolbar on the right.

Then select the highlighted words, this will cause a menu to appear.

Lastly, students will need to select Delete highlight in the pop-up menu.

Deleting Annotations

To delete annotations such as text boxes, sticky notes, shapes or drawings, students must first select Annotate Text from the toolbar on the right.

This will cause the annotation menu to appear on the right.

Delete All Annotations

To erase all annotations, all at once, select the three lines on the top left of the annotations menu.

Then select Clear Page Annotations from the pop-out menu.

And confirm this selection in the pop-up by selecting Yes, clear them.

Delete Individual Annotations

If students would like to only delete one annotation at a time, they must first select the annotation (text box, drawing, sticky note, etc.)

This will cause the editing options to appear.

Then students will need to select the Trashcan icon   to delete the individual annotation.
