Canvas : How do I preview / grade multiple sections within a course ?
Updated July 1st, 2026
The teacher will have to manage multiple class sections or need to efficiently grade student work across different sections, this workflow will help streamline your assessment process.
Pre-requisite:
- Your school district must select to roster for Gallopade Online with Canvas in order to integrate assignments from Gallopade Online.
- Multiple sections must be associated with a single course.
Navigating Between Sections
After teachers have signed in with Canvas, added the resource to their section, teachers are ready to create digital assignments that will integrate with Canvas. Teachers who access Gallopade Curriculum through Canvas, will need to locate their assignments.
The Teachers can access additional class sections by locating the Section dropdown menu positioned directly beneath the Assignment title. The system automatically displays the first section by default, but teachers can view all available sections by clicking on this dropdown menu to expand the selection options.

Section Management
When teachers click on the section dropdown and select a different section name, the system immediately refreshes to display the corresponding students enrolled in that specific section for the assignment, allowing for efficient management of multiple class sections.

The remaining two sections (Sections 3 and 4) also function similarly to each other. This multiple sections functionality allows the teachers to switching between sections within the same course. The teachers will have to switch tabs (Grade by Student / Question) to grade the assessment.
Please view the article for grading the Gallopade interactive type of assignments: How to Grade Interactive Types of Assignments - Gallopade.
Once the assignment is graded, the grades will be reflected in the Canvas Gradebook.
