Google Classroom Users: How to Create an Assignment from Gallopade Online

Important!
After teachers have signed in with Google, imported their classes and added the course to their class, teachers are ready to create digital assignments that will integrate with Google Classroom. For more information on these first steps, please view this article Getting Started Instructions for Google Classroom Users
Starting from the Teacher Dashboard, first select the grade level course from the My Courses Widget.

Then use the search bar or the table of contents navigation bar on the left to locate the resource you would like to assign to your students.

Once you've located the resource, select the blue Assign button on the resource card.


In the pop-up Assign modal, customize your assignment settings:

Release to Google
- Toggle at the top of the Assign modal must be turned on (blue) in order for assignments to integrate and appear in Google Classroom.

Assignment Title*

Assign to*
- Select the drop down menu to select class(es) you would like to assign the resource to.
- Assignments released to Google Classroom will be sent to every student rostered in the class(es) selected. Assigning to individual students is also possible based on the user selections.

Start Date & Time*
- Defaults to today's date and time
- Can be edited by selecting the calendar icon

End Date & Time*
- Defaults to 24 hours after today's date and time
- Can be edited by selecting the calendar icon

Allow Late Submission
- If checkbox is selected, select a Late Submission Date & Time by selecting the calendar icon.

Category*
- Default is set to Quiz, but the category can be changed to Activity, Exam, Homework, Practice, or Project.

Additional Settings are also available including:

Randomize Question Order
- Randomize Question Order option will be available for Vocabulary Quizzes, ExperTrack , Custom Assessments, Custom ExperTrack, Custom Vocabulary Quiz.
- Randomize Question Order option will not be available for Non-Question based assessments (PDFs , Internet Links) or Digital Student Books.

Randomize Answer Choices
- For all types of assignable resources, the default is selected to randomize answer choices.
- For all types of assignable resources, the default is selected to randomize answer choices.

Display Grades to Students
- For all types of assignable resources, the default is selected to display grades after the assignment is submitted.
- Students will view their scores (if allowed) by locating the assignment in the Gallopade Online Platform for students.
- Display Future Status to Students
Assignments can be released in the future dates for the students.

Review Options
- Review is defaulted to Review not Available.
- Students will be able to review their assignment (if allowed) by locating the assignment in the Gallopade Online Platform for students.

- Review button is not available for the student to review the submitted assignment.

Review Submission
- Students can only review the answers they submitted on the assignment.

Review Graded Submission
- Students will be able to view which questions they answered correctly or incorrectly on the Overview screen.
- Students will be able to review the answer they entered, but will not be able to see the correct answer if they answered incorrectly.

Review Graded Submission with Correct Answers
- Students will be able to view which questions they answered correctly or incorrectly on the Overview screen.
- Students will be able to view the correct answer and the student answer while reviewing individual auto-graded questions.

Practice Mode:
- The Practice Mode review option is only available for interactive assessments such as CB, Digital Student Books, (DSBs) and ExperTracks/Checkpoints. It is not available for PDFs, Internet Links, or Videos.
- Practice Mode to allows students to view correct answers instantly and
practice without fully completing and submitting the assignment to the teacher.

Additional Instructions
- Teachers can add instructions in the additional instructions box and students can view the instructions while they work on their assignment.
Advanced Grading Options

- For Interactive Question-Based Assignments, such as Digital Student Books, Vocabulary Quizzes or ExperTrack Assessments, teachers will be able to
- distribute the weight evenly to 100 percent for the entire assignment
- set the entire assignment to not grade by changing the top toggle to gray (off)
- customize the weight or percentage by individual question
- preview the question stem or identify the page as a content only page
- identify the question type
- identify if a question is an auto-graded or survey auto “completion” scored question
- set an individual question to not be graded by changing the toggle to the right to gray (off)

- For PDF or Non-Question Based Assignments, such as Study Guides, Videos, or Internet Links, teachers will be able to customize the total points for the entire assignment.

Once you've selected your assignment settings, select the blue Assign button on the bottom left of the pop-up modal.
You'll receive a pop-up message to confirm that your assignment was successfully assigned.
