How can I Copy or Edit a question while duplicating a Custom Assessment?

When creating custom assessments or copying existing ones, teachers can now directly modify questions within the assessment workflow, eliminating the time-consuming process of individually locating and editing questions in the Custom Content.

 

Initiating an Assessment Copy

  • The teacher will have to begin by selecting an existing assessment to copy.
  • Clicking on the ellipses will display a pop-up menu, the teachers can select Copy option. 
  • To proceed with Copying an assessment, a Copy and Edit modal will be displayed. The teacher is allow to rename the newly created copy of the selected assessment. 
 
 

 Editing a Question within the Custom Assessment

The teacher will be redirected to Step-2 Finalize Questions of the copied Custom Assessments. The copied questions exist in the assessment and the teacher is allowed to edit the questions inside the copied assessment.

Questions cannot be edited/copied under the following conditions;

  • The question does not belong to the original author who created.
  • Questions in Assigned Status cannot be edited. It can only be copied. 
  • ONLY Single Select, Select Many, Spelling Type, Drawing, Sequencing, Essay / Open response questions can be edited. 
  • Content pages in the DSB's / Click book's are not allowed to be edited. 
 

To edit a question in an existing assessment, the teacher will have to click on the pencil icon located to the right of the question title.

After clicking the pencil icon, an Edit Question modal will be displayed, allowing the teacher to make the necessary modifications to the selected question. 

Clicking on the Edit Question pencil icon will display an Edit Question alert message. Clicking on Continue button, will navigate the teacher to the Step-2 of the Edit Question screen. 

Clicking on Continue button, the teacher will be navigated to the Edit Question Step 2 screen. In the Step 2, the teacher is allowed to change the Number of Choices, Question Stem, choose a different correct answer, and upload a new image within the Edit Question modal.

Clicking on the Next button navigates the user to the Step 3 of the Edit Question page. 

Step 3 allows teachers to 

  • Add or remove Standards 
  • Add or remove Units and Chapter s
  • Keywords for the questions

Click on the +Add Standard button. Standard Selection modal will be displayed. The teachers will have to select the grade level from the dropdown.

Select the checkbox for standard selection. The standards can also be searched in the search box. Clicking onicon  displays the standard description. After standard selection, click the Save button. 

Click on the Add Unit and Chapter button. Chapter / Lesson Selection modal will be displayed. The teachers will have to select the grade level from the dropdown. Select the checkbox for Chapter / Lesson selection. The lesson / chapter can also be searched in the search box. After unit /chapter /lesson selection, click the Save button

The teacher can close the modal by clicking on the X icon.

Standards and Unit / Chapter / Lesson selection is required for the question to be saved.

 

The teacher can add keywords and press enter button from the keyboard to view the added keywords.  Adding keywords will help the teachers locate their question from the list of questions.

Clicking on Next button navigates the teacher to the Step 4, Summary/Save step allows teacher to preview the questions before saving and editing the Assessment Status.

Clicking the Save and Exit button from the Edit Question modal will direct the user back to Step 2 of the Edit Assessment page.

Clicking on Next button from the Finalize Questions page will direct the user to the Step 3 of Edit Assessment page. 

Step 3 allows teachers to preview the entire test , and save the final test. This screen allows teachers to review key assessment details, set the assessment status, optionally share the assessment with collections, and choose how to save or assign the assessment.

  • Save & Assign button:

Selecting Save & Assign completes the assessment and opens Assign modal. To Assign the custom assessment, status must be set to Active. 

  • Save & Exit button:

Selecting Save & Exit button saves the assessment and returns the teacher to the assessment list without assigning it. This allows the teacher to assign the custom assessment at a later time
