How to Edit/ Modify a Content Collection?

Editing a Content Collection requires the user to be a member of the collection, have the necessary publishing rights, is the author of the content, and ensure the content is not from Gallopade.

 

To edit a Content Collection, navigate to the Custom Content module from the dashboard and click on the Collections tab. 

My Collections and Collections Shared with Me are the two filters available for collections:

  • My Collections (Owner) – Displays collections created by the user themselves.
  • Collections Shared with Me  – Displays collections shared by other teachers or administrators.

The teacher can notice that Edit Collection button is enabled only for the Owner of the collection. 

After selecting the desired content collection, the teacher can click on the Edit Collection button, which will navigate them to Step 1 – Collection Information of the Edit Content Collection screen.

Step 1: Collection Information Tab

Step 1 allows the teachers to edit the Content Collection Title and Description. The Course can also be chagned using the Course dropdown, if there are more than one course available. 

After filling all the information, click on the Next button on the top right corner to navigate to the next page of Share Settings. 

If the teacher is interested to navigate to other steps, they can click on the progression bubble on top of the page.

 
 

Step 2: Share Settings Tab

In Step 2, the teacher can edit the settings of the collection.  

The teacher will have default Teacher Level Collection whereas administrators will have District , School Level Collections. The administrators can edit the Collection Level from the dropdown. 

The Default Collection Rights dropdown can also be edited. The rights can be changed based on the selection from the dropdown. 
 

District Dropdown:
Displays the district associated with the teacher’s account and is automatically populated based on the teacher’s access level. This field is not editable.

School Settings:

The teachers can manage members within the selected schools. Teachers are allowed to edit the Status and Collection Rights for each member and can also add or remove members from the collection. Teachers can also update the overall school status by selecting either Active or Inactive from the school-level dropdown.

Teachers can update the status of school members by selecting either Active or Inactive from the status dropdown menu.

The Collection Rights can be updated using the dropdown menu, which includes the following options:  Full Editing, Edit Content, Edit Members, and View and Assign.

Click on the  Next button on the top right side of the page to navigate to Step 3 of Associated Content. 

 
 

Step 3: Associated Content Tab

To edit an existing Assessments or Questions or Resources to an existing collection, the teacher needs to navigate to the respective tabs within the Associate Content tab.

To add a new Assessments or Questions or Resources, click on the + Add Assessments or Questions or Resources.

Assessments

The Assessments tab is displayed by default on this screen. Teachers can update the publishing status of each assessment by selecting either Active or Archived from the dropdown menu. Additionally, teachers can add existing assessments to the content collection by clicking on the + Add Assessment button.

The Teachers can filter the displayed assessments by using the Status dropdown, allowing them to view All Statuses, Active, or Archived items. The Teachers also have the option to remove existing Assessments from the collection by clicking on the X (remove) icon next to the assessments.

 
 

Questions

Navigate to the Questions tab to manage the questions within the collection. Teachers can edit the publishing status of each question by selecting either Active or Archived from the dropdown menu. Additionally, teachers can add existing questions to the content collection by clicking on the + Add Question button.

Teachers can filter the displayed questions by using the Status dropdown, allowing them to view All Statuses, Active, or Archived items. Teachers also have the option to remove existing Questions from the collection by clicking on the X (remove) icon next to the resource.

 
 

Resources

Navigate to the Resources tab to manage the resources within the collection. Teachers can update the publishing status of each resource by selecting either Active or Archived from the dropdown menu. Additionally, teachers can add existing resources to the content collection by clicking on the + Add Resource button.

Teachers can filter the displayed resources by using the Status dropdown, allowing them to view All Statuses, Active, or Archived items.  Teachers also have the option to remove existing Resources from the collection by clicking on the X (remove) icon next to the resource.

 
 

After the teacher has added and edited the collection as per their requirement, they can click the Next button on the right corner of the page to save change.

 
 

Step 4: Summary/Save

On Step 4, the teacher will see a confirmation message:
“Congratulations! You are ready to save your new collection.”

This screen provides a summary of the configured collection, including the following details:

  • Added Collection Rollup
  • Collection Status


Added Collection Rollup
Displays key information about the collection such as the collection title, creator name, creation date, access level, number of contents (assessments, questions, resources), status, state, associated organizations (schools), and total members.

Collection Status
Allows the teacher to set the final status of the collection:

  • Active – The collection is visible to all users it has been shared with
  • Inactive – The collection is hidden from other users

After reviewing the information, the teacher can proceed by clicking on the Save & Exit button to finalize and save the collection.

 
 

Preview a Collection Type 

In Collections tab, the teacher can locate their custom-created collections. Clicking on the Collection Title will open a preview of the collection.

 

Preview of Content Collection: 

The Teachers can preview the collection items by clicking on title of Assessments, Questions or Resources by selecting respective tabs.

Upon clicking the content title, the Preview modal opens, allowing the teachers to view the System ID and copy the auto-generated unique identifier using the copy icon.

The Teachers can use the Assign button to release the custom content (assesments / resources) to the respective class. 

Clicking the Back to Collection button returns the teachers to the previous Collection Details screen, where they can continue viewing and managing the selected collection.
