Schoology Users: How do I edit my assignment from the settings?

Assignment Settings Access – Expanded vs. Collapsed View Grading and Other Settings Option

After teachers have signed in with Schoology, all the associated Courses will be displayed on the Courses Dashboard. To view an assignment, the teacher must select the appropriate course. When the Assignment screen opens, the teacher needs to click on the assignment title.

Clicking the assignment title directs the teacher to the Preview Activity screen, where a Settings button is visible in the top-right corner of the Preview Activity screen.

Assignment Settings Access – Expanded vs. Collapsed View

Expanded View

  • Action buttons (Delete, Unsubmit, and Reset) are displayed directly on the screen next to the Grade By Questions tab in the expanded view.
  • Teachers can access these options without navigating through the Settings dropdown. 
  • Clicking the Settings dropdown redirects the teacher to the Assignment Settings page.

Collapsed View (Small Screen Resolution)

  • Action buttons (Delete, Unsubmit, and Reset) are moved into the Settings dropdown located in the top-right corner of the Preview Activity tab.
  • Clicking the Settings dropdown displays the following options: Edit, Delete, Unsubmit, and Reset.
  • Clicking on Edit option will navigate the teacher to the Assignment Settings screen.             
 
 

Grading and Other Settings Option

In the Assignment Settings screen, the teacher can notice the below fields: 

  • Randomize Question Order
    • Randomize Question Order is enabled by default, but the teacher can disable it by clicking on the checkbox.
    • Randomize Question Order option will be available for Vocabulary Quizzes, ExperTrack , Custom Assessments, Custom ExperTrack, Custom Vocabulary Quiz.
    • Randomize Question Order option will not be available for Non-Question based assessments (PDF's, Internet Links), Digital Student Books. 
  • Randomize Answer Choices
    • Randomize Answer Choices is selected by default for all assignable resources. The teacher may disable this option by unchecking it.
  • Review Options
    • Review option is defaulted to Review not Available.
    • Review Options are as follows:
      • Review not Available
      • Review Submission
      •  Review Graded Submission
      • Review Graded Submission with Correct Answers
      • Practice Mode

The teacher is allowed to change the Review options. 

Grading Options for Interactive Assignments:

The teacher can edit the questions in the assessment displayed with the Sequence, Title/ Type, Weight , % and Grade. 

Grading Options cannot be edited, if students have already started the assignment.

 

Grading Options for Non-Interactive Assignments:

For non-interactive type of Assignments, Question sequence will not be displayed in the Grading Options section. 

After making any changes, make sure to scroll to the top of the screen and press the blue Save button. 

The teacher will be displayed an Assignment Settings Save Successful modal.

 The Assignment Settings will be saved for the assessment. Clicking the Close button will Close the Assignment Setting modal.
